City of Miami Detail Restaurant Recovery Program to Help in Pandemic

The city of Miami is finding different ways to help restaurants during the coronavirus pandemic with a program that allow more outdoor seating.

By releasing an outdoor seating permit to establishments that are operating in a normal condition, this will allow the use of sidewalks and even parking spaces according the restaurant for appropriate seating arrangements with the rues and guidelines for social distancing. the permit will be valid until August 20th.

Areas that can be used also include private walkways, parking and driving areas that must be adjacent and have permission of the owner. On-street parking and roads closed by the city are allowed to be used as well.

The implementation of the new program comes with the high hopes to keep the economy afloat, everyone in the industry is doing whatever is necessary in order not have a complete shutdown again. Safety comes first and the decision to take services outside is one way to deal with the situation and keep the virus from spreading. So with all the rules and regulations in place, restaurants will take this new directions and maintain the survival mode until a full come back takes place.

Did Miami re-opened to soon? this is an issue that the public can not agree on. What is important for some, might not be important for others. The level of belief varies from one family to another. Needless to say that respect of each individual is important, but even more important is to be conscious and not taking things lightly. There will always be the brave ones that thinks that they are strong and it’s not a simple virus that will take them down. But it is also wise to have to experience it at all. Do what you must but practice safety at all cost, this will not only affect your life, but the life of others as well.

It is very important to be in compliance with all the new rules or the establishment will be shut down. Everyone that works in any business either serving or hosting, or bartending goes thru a complete series of training before becoming part to the team in industry of choice, now with this pandemic all employees have to be re-trained on the new rules. What was second nature to any trained staff, now needs adjusted in order to follow the guidelines issued by the government.

An adjustment on the public side has to be made as well, it’s not everyone that enjoys the use of plastic material, since that it will be discarded at the end of each meal, is maybe safe to say that it real a better choice.

It is hard to be sure that everything in the kitchen has been prepared with cautions. One order goes thru a lot of hands until it’s delivered to your table, that may or may have not been wiped down with alcohol. So it is best that everyone uses their own judgement by handing everything. It is not rude to take your very own gel from your purse and use it to wipe down whatever is necessary for your peace of mind.

But for now, dining out is still a possibility and with these new rules, a lot more restaurants will be able to attend to all devoted customers, and perhaps keep it’s doors open until it’s safe to acomodade as many clients as possible.
